Mark has worked in the computer field for too many years, that's why he went sailing! During his travels, he, like most cruisers, wants
to stay in touch with friends and family, and of course research the never ending broken boat parts that need replacing. Using
his technology background combined with years of cruising on a sailboat, he and Liesbet invented The Wirie. He believes it's the
most cost effective and best way currently on the market to enhance a user's ability to get online from his or her own boat or RV.
While in port, Mark is also available to help out fellow boaters with their computer needs and issues. If he's around,
just call s/v Irie on VHF 16.
Liesbet Collaert is a certified primary school teacher from Belgium. She is very passionate about traveling, which she has done her whole life. She also loves writing. While cruising, she transforms into a freelance writer and then, The Wirie comes in very handy. Liesbet and Mark spent one year travelling by RV throughout Mexico and Central America and then started cruising on Irie, their sailing catamaran. Her flexible, innovative and encouraging personality has lead to many adventures of which The Wirie is just one …
Tim runs and manages all aspects of the U.S. manufacturing and distribution of The Wirie. He is available to answer any questions, ship The Wirie anywhere in the world, and provide any type of support you might need once you have purchased The Wirie. Tim sails his Alden 44, Silhouette, out of Newburyport, MA.
IRIE (Caribbean Adjective)
Pronounced: I-ree / I-rie
Definition: To be at total peace with your current state of being. The state of feeling great, cool, good, nice.
The way you feel when you have no worries.
Uses: "Everything is irie, mon." "I'm feeling irie, mon." "Live life irie."
"I be feeling kinda irie, mon."
We came up with the name Wirie because it combines our boat name with WiFi, turning The Wirie into a wireless internet solution that's "all good".
